Youth With A Mission (YWAM is an international, inter-denominational, non-profit Christian missionary organization. Founded by Loren Cunningham in 1960, YWAM's stated purpose is to "know God and to make Him known".
YWAM now includes people from over 150 countries and a large number of Christian denominations, with over half of the organization's staff coming from "non-western" countries. YWAM currently has over 16,049 full-time volunteer workers in over 1,000 operating locations in 180 nations
and trains 25,000 short-term missions volunteers annually.
Vidas con propósito , a ministry of Youth with a Mission Cali, is working directly with high risk children of the Homiguero community on the outskirts of Cali to bring the kingdom of God in the lives of the children and their families.
The program includes 70 children from ages 2 to 12 years old. Most of these children come from broken homes and live in poverty and in most cases struggle for one good meal a day. Sadly, this community has a reputation for a lack of principles and values which often leads to alcoholism, drugs and even witchcraft. Our mission is to bring hope to this community through practical love and Christian education. Our emphasis is on Education, Bible and English teachings as well as providing needed food and clothing.
Vidas con propósito is working to raise up a new generation that will know God, love Him, and bring real change to the community with His help.
